Robert Alan Mackie
Upright Bass & Vocals

Bred of the ashes of bebop on Prince Edward Island by way of rural Ontarian fighter pilots and farmers, upright bassist Robert Alan Mackie has spent the last six years gathering sounds and otherwise from Quebecois jazz improvisers, Torontonian songwriting circles, and Swedish fiddle camps. These influences brought forth a multitude of musical pursuits, including the 2013 Grand Prize in Jazz en Rafale's Concours de la Releve.
In addition to performing with Quinn Bachand and Brishen, Alan is honoured to count The Robert Flood Octet, Harebrain, Christine Jensen, Chet Doxas, Jaron Freeman-Fox, Sara Jane Scouten, The Bombadils and Coco Love Alcorn as collaborators and compatriots on record or in performance.
